Hi there, welcome to the temporary homepage of Yuxuan Wang, who is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree at School of Communications and Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. His dream of being a real problem solver dates back to his high school time. Ever since, he has been working on artificial/computational intelligence related issues. As a high school student, he independently developed a neural network and decision tree based spammail filter, which led him to the land of formal scientific research.
In his self-motivated and self-initiated undergraduate research, he dives into the field of evolutionary computation and heuristic search because the idea of solving problems by mimicking nature and collective intelligence is so attractive to him. General AI methodologies such as search, learning, modeling and knowledge from applied mathematics such as statistics, matrix analysis and optimization, serve as basic tools to facilitate his research in the field of interest. So far, he has several publications in various challenging yet interrelated areas, all of which were carried out and done without any supervision. His various research interests mainly span Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning/Perception, Multi-Agent System, Cognitive Computation, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, etc.
In future, he expects to do research in a strongly interdisciplinary way, i.e., (possibly) with a combination of cognitive science, computer science and mathematics, through which he believes the insight of how "intelligence" emerges can be better revealed. Besides, he also wishes to develop new algorithms for solving real-world problems, such as those arise in the field of signal processing, distributed data management, information retrieval, social information processing, and multi-agent robotics. In other words, his future research can also be application-driven, which appropriately applies state-of-the-art theories to solving fancy real-world problems.
Currently, Yuxuan is looking for a Ph.D research student position related to the above areas, please feel free to drop him an email to: logpie AT gmail DOT com. You may want to check his brief CV below.
